At BCMEA, our commitment to accessibility is embedded in every aspect of our operations. Our priority areas address key elements essential for creating an inclusive environment: Employment, Built Environment, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Communication, Procurement, Design and Delivery of Programs and Services, and Transportation. Each area is carefully evaluated and targeted to enhance accessibility, ensuring that all employees, members, and stakeholders can fully participate and thrive within our organisation. Through focused actions and ongoing improvements, we aim to build a barrier-free workplace that supports diversity and equity for everyone.

The BCMEA aims to create an inclusive, barrier-free workplace by enhancing accessibility in recruitment and employment practices. Actions include auditing accommodation processes, updating policies, and launching DEI training to ensure equal opportunities for employees with disabilities.

The BCMEA aims to ensure that all our facilities are barrier-free for our employees, union employees, customers, individuals from member companies, and the public. We need to understand the safety and security of our facilities and the jobs performed on-site to prioritize accessibility upgrades.

The BCMEA’s goal is for ICT to provide all users, including persons with disabilities, with progressive tools that support efficiency and reduce barriers to communication for BCMEA employees, union employees, customers, individuals from member companies, and the public.
